I was poking fun at the American Legal system. I live in Canada, we don't see the silly law suits like I have seen on American TV.

Going to MacDonalds and spilling coffee on yourself, then sue MacDonalds because the coffee was too hot.

In the state of Virginia, if a party is contributory negligent, that part is entitled to no compensation...

However, the coffee in the lap is a bit extreme. It appears that one cannot be sued for an opinion, but stating an *outright* lie.
