I remember the days when you held high school class office because you are popular...This is not a popularity contest...so what if he is popular!!!! I choose do do the right thing...that is why we have laws, so you can't just be popular and get away with breaking them. You are right, there may be a backlash, but watching Barney, Chuckie, and Maxine in the committee, I choose the Republicans any day!! They will stand for what is right, no matter how unpopular...That is exactly where the senators are going to find themselves....voting against the laws of the land to protect a lame duck "Popular" president....As soon as the first poll does not show that an overwhelming majority of the people want to drop this, they will drop him like a "Hot Potato"...Thats because they know it is the right thing to do...I would much rather be right and unpopular than sell out my country to protect this guy....

Even though most would rather this go away, You are not going to see the people protest these measures very much, because they know that he deserves it and it is the right thing to do!!!!
