After reading the messages in this thread, I've come to realize that the issue of the President's impeachment is purely political. The "conservatives" want to hang him and the "liberals" want to deify him.
If you look at the situation the Dems won't let him get impeached and this sorid affair will go on through most of next year. IMHO both parties will be effected by this impeachment process and some candidate who is clean and "above the fray" will come out as our next president.
My guess: Bill Bradley(D) or George W. Bush(R). Personally I'll take either one.
