Happy new year to all. I'd like to wish you all a most rewarding year. The coming year may prove to be quite turbulent and with the new millinume approaching, I can see all sorts of doom and gloom sayers getting the lime light. As a little present for the new year, I've typed up an article from The K-Wave by David Barker which describes a banking and deflationary crisis in Rome around 2 thousands years ago. It serves as a good reminder that there is always hope and no matter how volatile things get, it's happend before and things have turned out ok after all. It makes for a very interesting reading. Unfortunately it seems that I've left it in New York (I am in Canada at the moment). I will post it when I get back to NYC. On another note, I'm happy to report that STIA is now over 10,115 about a thousand points higher than the Dow. Sometime in the second half of January I will modify it again to bring us more up to date with the changing nature of the market. I am interested to see what everyone thinks is in store for the new year.

Best wishes,
Sun Tzu
