- I find it hard to believe that Windows the operating system will become obsolete; especially with every program & system built around it. - Rather, I see the Sun/Oracle experiment as being another high priced flop.

As I understand it, Sun's New Computer without an operating system will be called the NC and will come as standard equipment on all new Edsels. Duke

This is another, typical Ellison/McNeally delusional vaporware. (They are so much worse than MSFT at this...) Just how many NC's do you see out there now? (Remember Ellison's huge announcement with Colin Powell about how he would donate $100 million of NC's to schools? Couldn't find any takers. Gates' philanthropy, on the other hand, is exceedingly well conceived, effective, focused on real human needs and as smart as his business investments, btw.)
