Pulse Introduces New ADSL Line Interface Transformers
Small-Footprint, Low-Profile Devices Interface to Analog Devices' AD20msp910 and AD20msp918 ADSL Chipsets

SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 21, 1998--Pulse, a leading designer and manufacturer of high-quality components and modules for local area networks (LANs), digital and analog telecommunications and power supplies today announced the immediate availability of two new line transformers that interface with Analog Devices' AD20msp910 asymmetric digital subscriber line (ADSL) chipset in addition to its second-generation AD20msp918 ADSL chipset.

The B2031 (through hole) and B2032 (surface mount) line interface transformers have been approved by Analog Devices and are designed to meet the supplementary insulation requirements of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) 950 documents.

''We are pleased to work in conjunction with Pulse on this project,'' said Rupert Baines, product line manager for ADSL products at Analog Devices. ''Pulse worked very closely with us to insure that its B2031 and B2032 meet the stringent electrical performance requirements of Analog Devices' analog front end (AFE) solution. Combined, the products offer a highly reliable solution.''

''Both of our transformers provide excellent total harmonic distortion (linearity) and longitudinal balance throughout the entire ADSL data frequency range of 30KHz through 1.1 MHz,'' stated David Wilding, Senior Product Manager for xDSL products at Pulse. ''In addition, the small footprint and low profile provide an ideal solution for high component density PC boards where real estate is at a premium.''

In addition to being approved by Analog Devices, both parts have received safety agency approvals to UL 1950 and EN 60950 from UL and TUV, respectively. These supplementary insulation approvals are rated for a working voltage of up to 250 Vrms.

Pricing and Availability:

The through hole B2031 is available in trays and the surface mount B2032 comes in either trays or tape and reel packaging that allows pick and place capability. Please specify B2032T for the tape and reel version. Full electrical and mechanical specifications are listed on data sheet B906 which is available at pulseeng.com. Both parts are priced at $2.10 in quantities of 10,000. Samples are available immediately. Production quantities require an 8-10 week lead time.
