OT All the rest is smoke
All is smoke! The main strategy is to create such a fuss that the radical right can sneak their candidates into our school boards and local races. If they can make people so fed up they won't vote then they have won. This and the rest of their issues are picked to inflame the media and public until they are distracted.

****Mostly Ot****

Steve,

Even the Republican prosecutors are saying that they do not have a winnable case for perjury in any courtroom. So I do not know why you are convicting him of perjury. That is why Hyde and company did not come up with any specific statement of Clinton's to put in a bill of particulars.

The bottom line is that the strongest charge is perjury and this can not be upheld in court. Because Clinton's definition of SR is accurate as demonstrated by Black's law dictionary and Webster's dictionary and his own definition.

Did he lie and mislead regarding his personal affairs? Yes. Did he commit perjury? No.

Do you think it is right to elect a man to one of the most pressured, high stress jobs in the world and then relentlessly investigate him and his family for 5 years? It is the vicious religious right (AKA..pharisees) that is behind this peculiarly unchristian attempt to destroy Clinton and his family.

I suppose it will flush out these strange acrimonious people who justify their witch hunt. This is a power grab by the religious right.

But this should not affect DELL stock long term. We may see a short scare blip here and overseas.

Steven,

** OT **

Steven, the arcane Catch-22 established by the Republicans is indeed fascinating. There is an old saying in the law: if the facts are against you argue the law. If the facts and the law are against you go after the prosecutor.

So when Clinton defends himself on the basis of facts he is accused of obstruction of justice. When he disputes the law by claiming that the charges, even if true, do not rise to the level of an impeachable offense he is accused of mounting a legalistic campaign, and not dealing with the facts. And if he attacks the prosecutor due to his bias, unprofessional behavior and prosecutorial misconduct, he is accused of engaging in personal attacks.

Does this sound like America to you, or the PRC?

It should be clear to even the most ardent Clinton hater that there is something patently unfair when a man, in trying to defend himself, is immediately judged guilty on the nature of the defense, not the substance. In essence, the only way the Republicans could limit their attack is if Clinton agreed with their charges.

Here is an analogy. A man is accused of a crime. If he attempts to defends himself the prosecutor adds a count of perjury, and if the poor schnook hires a lawyer, the prosecutor then adds a count of obstruction of justice.
