What hogwash! The idea that such a trial would shut down the government for 6 months is just plain silly. I've heard estimates of how long the trial might take 4 - 6 weeks and it won't be the only thing going on -- certainly it will consume the attention of only a very small fraction of the governments attention. The Clinton administration is just trying to scare people from voting their conscience. Gosh keeping the congress occupied for a little while might be a side benefit. The truth is, on a day to day basis, congress and the president don't really do that much in running the government.
