Re: "I was looking at the constitution which protects us from "illegal search and seizure". Investigations of marital infidelity seem to fall squarely into that category. Entrapment also falls into that category."

Obviously you're no constitutional scholar, but that's okay. I think it's possible to make a valid argument that a lot of this is politically motivated at this point, but I think the argument doesn't really hold water when it's dissected. It's clear (from the recent elections) that most voters don't like the idea of impeaching Clinton. By taking matters to the Senate, Republicans are only making their political situation worse, because somehow Clinton has managed to persuade people that he did nothing wrong, and that HE'S the one who's the victim (!!). The Republicans will never actually win an impeachment vote in the Senate, so House Republicans can only look stupid by voting for the articles. Therefore, QED, it isn't political reasons which motivate Republicans. So either Republicans ae out to get Clinton out of pure spite or desire for revenge, or they really believe that action is morally appropriate and just.

I believe that a President should not systematically lie to or mislead the American people.

I believe perjury is perjury and there's no such thing as "little white perjury."

I believe that if Andy Grove was discovered having an affair with a 22 year old intern he'd do the proper thing and resign his position.

I believe that the Oval Office is an inappropriate forum for bl*wj*bs and that Clinton's behavior has crassly demeaned the highest institutions of this nation.

I believe Clinton should be held accountable for his wrongdoings.

That being said, I think the Republicans should give up their futile efforts at impeachment. I'm a Republican and I want what's best for Republicans, and that (unfortunately, in this distorted political environment) means leaving Clinton alone right now. Let history pass its judgement. Clinton will be considered one of the least effective Presidents ever, but somehow luckily blessed by a wonderful economy, the disappearance of cold war complications from foreign policy, and brainwashed American public.
