How's this for a prediction? The Republicans will win the White House in 2000, with a squeaky-clean candidate (probably not George, Jr.). The Democrats will take the Congress. Americans do prefer "balanced": (otherwise known as stalemated) government.

Michelle Nobody seems to be thinking about the stock market.Americans are very heavily invested with retirement money. Should we get a prolonged Senate trial resulting in a severe setback in the markets... The American people can be very vindictive when it comes to their money and we know who they would blame.When it comes to money I believe they will have long memories of the pain even if the markets recover.
