RE: Question: If an identical component is used in a PC built for CPQ, IBM, and the white box and there is a shortage of the component, who is first in line to get it? Basically, which customer is top dog?

Hi Lynn,

I would hope that a supplier of components would be ethical enough to work on a first order first supply basis.

Presumeably though, there will be all sorts of performance bonuses, non-performance penalties and other financial knots to tie the suppliers up when it comes to customers like CPQ and IBM.

So, good question... <g>
