Years ago I used to wonder why people who don't believe the Bible would call themselves Reverend (and Bishop and etc.), and why they would worm their way into leadership in the mainline Christian denominations. Then I heard the late Prof. Walter Martin explain it.

It's all about gaining control of the denomination's money and property, getting a cushy job, and arrogating whatever prestige remains.
