Incidentally, while idly searching for animal-insult-laden posts (I have nothing better to do with my time, of course) I uncovered an interesting phenomenon: many posters to SI use animal pseudonyms. Among them: Mud Weasel, jackal, SalmonMan, grayfish, River Rat, Wharf Rat, snake, SHARK KING. (Note that marine life is well represented.)

What is the significance of this phenomenon, O Mighty Chicken? If you consider it of importance, you may also wish to consider the following post:

Personally, I wonder about the lifespan of people who can neither spell nor punctuate! (Some of us would occasionally like to strangle them, grammar attack dogs that we are...)
