Very simple - If the founding fathers wanted to allow a single party to eliminate the president from the opposing party, the bar would have been set low. Jefferson would have been impeached for sleeping with his domestic slaves, Roosevelt for his secretarial sleeping, Bush for his Ambassadorial sleeping and so on. This lowering of the impeachment bar will set a standard for all to come ... the president (present and future) will become fully disabled from carrying out his(her) duties. You will be affected indirectly as the law has changed to let anyone take you to court for any reason, be judged guilty, and maybe later to be found innocent. This entire proceeding will destroy the framework of the constitution by deforming the intent and meaning.
