How many adulterers lie about it under oath, before a grand jury? Not very comforting knowing your standard for the American president is below lying under oath, adultery, etc.

You might be right. I hope you are right. However, I don't believe Bill has really come around. I think he's faking. I think that if it were not for a certain blue dress, Bill would still be lying about what happened. I mean, he still isn't even saying what actually happened, for cryin' out loud! Is this, "I still don't know what you did, but whatever it was, it's OK now?"

You can call it cynical, if you want. I choose to call it reality.

Gregor, I believe the process starts not with forgiveness, but with acceptance of responsibility. When I see Bill has really taken responsibility, (and I'll know when I do), then he can ask me to forgive him.

I don't mind forgiving him, but he should pay for his crimes like anyone else. What do you want to do? Just forgive all perjurors(sp?) and criminals and let them go scot free.

I can appreciate what you are saying, but does one have to be guiltless to sit on a jury and convict someone else of wrongdoing? --

I think the only thing the house members need to decide is

1) is there evidence of a crime that warrants a trial

and

2) are they going to do their duty.

I am with Christians on the other side.

Forgiveness is Clinton's the moment he turns to God and asks for it. No question.

Consequences may remain, though. If our nation's government does not punish wrongdoing it will flourish -- all the more in its leaders. I think our nation needs a trial as does Clinton himself.

I can't see inside Clinton, but some have used religion as a pretense or for ulterior motives. I hope this is not the case with Clinton ...
