I read somewhere that these mp3 players with solid state memory run for 12 hours on a set of AA batteries. Small, portable, rugged, skip-free and energy efficient. The real nightmare is trying to gauge prices for one target market without putting another market out of range for cost effectiveness. The camera market for CF eliminates the cost of film, reduces developing costs and facilitates connectivity with a PC and the net. The cost per megabyte can be converted into a material benefit. I am not sure the same thing can be said about mp3 where you have teenage kids sharing CD's, downloading music samplers from the net and not spending alot of money doing it.
