Mohan, yes they were more expensive. However, based on the data Kelley and I were discussing (Kelley never did back his numbers up with data from Dell's web site, so I don't buy them - I think his numbers probably are for a lesser configuration) the cut to $1999 for the machine in the data below puts it below the Dell XPS R price. In either case, prices from both manufacturers are getting much closer these days. By the way, explain to me (other than the obvious CPQ will lose comments) how is it a positive for Dell to have CPQ selling machines direct at attractive prices?? If you can't show me how you get your numbers, I'll have to assume the price differential between CPQ and Dell is just over 3%, not the 10-14% you have mentioned($2129 vs $2064). For leasing, pricing looks to be in CPQ's favor, at about 250 bucks less over the life of the lease, (71/month vs 78/month). If I don't hear from you perhaps we will 'play' again sometime... I believe so--- but in the mean time CPQ knows how to sell 'puters and raise SH equity. Trends must reverse or they will meet around 60.It was next to impossible for CPQ to get moving--- now moving at the expense of DELL where it had been the opposite for a llloooooonngg time. actually plan on holding all my DELL until second week of Jan unless things get worse. If only a little better it goes then. Holding all else and adding to CPQ (up to 42) and HDIE. Seems more upside potential much faster with CPQ-- SHORT TERM DOLLARS COUNT TOO...
