In an encompassing way I run into discussions all the time about forgiveness and the "Law". Old Testament Law ! The Apostle Paul said that all who sin without the Law will die without the Law and all who sin in the Law will be judged by the Law. ROM 2:12

This is very relevant to the Clinton discussion. 2000 years later we are still weighing sin and the Law. ( Law of Moses, mans Law or ten commandments, whichever combination of these anyone believes in..)they have to realize that the Law is "harsh". Look at the trend in sentencing the past ten years in this country--the LAW is "harsh". Habitual offenders get life, minimum sentences are stiff, manditory sentences are commonplace and leave judges NO LEEWAY !! PERIOD. Prisons cannot be built fast enough. Escapees are shot on sight.

Tell some poor sucker pulling 40 years because someone lied on the witness stand that Clinton should get off with a pat on the back just because he is the chief law enforcement officer of the nation-- civil proceeding or not he should still be thrown out of office.............

I agree with 99% of your response to gregor, but the religious overtones of your response are IMO part of the reason so many members of the Democratic party support a President who so obviously lacks a moral compass. Many of my more "liberal" friends stand up for WJC simply because they fear the Christian right.

Please do not misinterpret. Religious freedom is one of our most precious. But faith in a higher power need not be a prerequisite to just and moral behavior.
