I thought the same thing when he called it off a few weeks ago and all the build-up talk then. Look at all the time Iraq has had to prepare for this. Man-o-man ..

Mike, my take on it is that the military know where the U.S. press are, and the limitations on their ability to get information. The Iraqis make them stay at the Ministry of Information, after all. So there probably isn't much that CNN says that US military does not want them to say.

The targets are not going anywhere, they are buildings. The people, on the other hand, can take cover. Baghdad is a capital city, and the people were not expecting the attack.

I do recall your announcement, on Veteran's day, that you had served in the Army, and would be interested in whether you agree with my conclusions.

Mike - And later, on this evening's network news, a reporter in Baghdad said she'd been informed that B-52's were expected any minute. I don't get it at all. I don't think I get anything any more.
