The distribution
channels are too entrenched, the software availability too large, and NT's superiour
desktop design are advantages Linux will be hard pressed to match. The NT kernel
design is actually very good for a desktop OS, integrating the gui API's into the kernel
is very efficient, more so than the Unix layering approach.

I completely agree with you! The best part is rebooting! You get to do it alot, then you get to do it again, and again. Absolutely nothing to worry about from any unix. That beautiful blue screen is an oasis in a desert of unix! Oh yes! I can't wait until everyone has a blue screen of their own! Then, my friends, we can reboot together in harmony! Music to my ears! Oh crap, I just woke up! What a nightmare that was!

Just having a little Christmas cheer! Happy investing everyone!
Where is that twister anyway? Oh, hi Dale! Cheers!

You actually believe that rhetoric? The idea that integrating the gui APIs into the kernel results in better performance is a bunch of bull. Only the low-level device drivers need to be in the kernel. Putting any more than that does not help performance, and only results in a kernel that is less stable and less secure. Moreover, this same kernel is used in the NT Server, where the embedding of the gui APIs is even a worse drawback in a well-designed OS. Of course, with MSFT, the gui is just as important on the server since the windowing system is not separated out and thus admin tasks generally need to be done directly from the server.
