Dear Thread: BEARISH short-term development for MSFT?

I read somewhere recently that the weightings for the components of the NDX Index (Nasdaq 100) will be be changed next week in favor on re-distributing the weights AWAY from the largest market capitalization stocks (MSFT, DELL, INTC, CSCO) back INTO the smaller capitalization stocks.

There was also mention of keeping the weighting of the largest component below some pre-determined threshold.

Incredibly, 23.64% of the NDX currently comprises of MSFT. If, for example, the weighting of the largest component is not allowed to exceed 20% of the index, 3.64% of the entire market cap of the NDX must immediately be shed through the selling of MSFT alone. This amount must be substantial, and is definitely short-term bearish for MSFT.

Does anyone have access to the precise numbers behind the upcoming NDX re-weightings?

It sure is nice -- no more updates from the anti-trust case on CNBC until Jan 4. Keeps the company out of the press (at least negative press).

Finally starting to move up 134 9/16. If the nasdaq stays strong (currently up 25 points), I hope MSFT can catch up in percentage terms to the index.
