This is not a war and people didn't bring it into the discussion.

This Clinton inspired police action is a distraction from a reality that he will surely face sooner rather than later.

This is a typical politically inspired misuse of US military might for purposes other than what they are purported to be. To say that this is needed today is totally disingenuous. Engaging in an attack sandwiched between the day prior to Congressional debate on presidential impeachment and the start of Ramadan is political on the face of it. Can you imagine any respected military commander issuing such an order on such a basis ? Its ridiculous! No one predicts the fog of war with such hubris.

The House should move forward and vote the impeachment into history. This presidential delaying tactic is just that. God only knows what he will try, the day Rehnquist calls the "jury" and courtroom to order.

<<<What Ritter also says, when not criticizing his former employers, is that we need far more draconian military action. He thinks what is happening is not enough.>>>

He's right.

<<<I think that we should have freed the Iraqi and Kuwati people and installed democracies as we promised the troops and American people we would in 1991.>>>

That was not nor ever has been the stated policy nor was it ever promised. Not to mention on the Kuwaiti side alone it would have been a political fiasco to even try.

Folks, look past the obvious. The best result of any conflict with Iraq is Sadaam Hussein remaining in place. He provides the single best chance of keeping the region in turmoil which is a much more desirable option than stabilization.
