There was about six months in which for Bush to form the coalition to repel Iraq from Kuwait. And it wasn't motivated by election. It was over a year and a half before elections. Iraq was backed in the latter part of the 80's since Iran gained the upper hand in the Iran-Iraq war. The goal was to achieve a standoff. Most of Iraq's backing was from the Soviets and Iran's from China. Why do you think those two countries want embargo lifted from Iraq? They and France are owed the most amount of money.

Almost everything that Bush left on his plate got progressively worse under Clinton. Clinton was one disaster after another in the first two years of his administration. All he has to show for his first term is the engineered government shutdown. Until the Republicans got control of Congress in 1994, the US President couldn't get support to get the arms embargo lifted in Bosnia and to go in as a peacekeeping force. Pretty much everything got progressively worse under Clinton except his relations with Tony Blair. He let the international coalition in the Middle East fall apart. No wonder China, Russia, and France have condemned the attack.

Charles, were you asleep during the Gulf War? I remember it well. President Bush had to kiss just about every Democratic butt in town for their support. And in the end support for the effort was won by less than a hand full of votes. Did Gephard and company was the leading whiner about us not having FULL U.N. Support for every tissue paper Bush had sent over their. They even tried to say it was illegal for Bush to send the troops in the first place

The same Democrats who nearly begged Bush to end the war at 100 days are now saying it was all Bush's fault the war ended so soon.

It's pathetic how Democrats like yourself try and rewrite history. Do you think ALL Americans are this gullible to believe that tripe.

Here in Washington State the Democratic Mayor actually participated in a parade against the war effort while our men and women were dying in battle. The Democratic congress even threatened to withhold funding unless certain restrictions were met.

The hypocrisy of leading Democrats on this issue is irrefutable and undeniably clear.
