<And yes, if I owned eBay stock, I would sell it right now!!! >

Doug, don't be such a stick in the mud! <g> You've been saying that since 80! Forget about fundamentals. The net sector is ending the year with yet another bang - amzn, ebay, cmgi and aol all breaking out. Why miss out on the fun?

Sure, your numbers are a real concern, and I certainly appreciate your posting them. Yes, doomsday will come, but there are too many factors going for this stock for something like fundamentals to have any immediate impact. A tapering off in the growth rate for these last two weeks' numbers should not impact the quarterly count materially. ebay will post 4Q and earnings growth that will keep WS very happy near term. Even unfortuitous domestic and international political events don't have much impact on this mania.

Steve Harmon indicates today that ebay is the stellar ipo for 1998, up over 1200% since the ipo price. Sometime in Jan I will lighten up or unload completely. Until then, I am enjoying the kind of party that doesn't get thrown too often.

Rob

ps. Sincere question: You start the thread, you do your homework, you follow the stock diligently, but you miss out on most of the action. Do you ever have mornings where you get up and look in the mirror and just want to kick yourself?
