shane, are the S3 patents related to the P6 bus? Seems to me FTC might not allow the Intel equity investment at all, let alone a takeover -- or might delay approval. License rights from Intel make S3 an extremely attractive company to someone like AMD. AMD is trying to sell their Vantis subsidiary which would give them the bucks to buy S3 (at a premium of course). Maybe part of the reason for price gain is potential of a takeover by someone other than Intel now that S3 has these valuable Intel licensing rights.

BTW, I am both an AMD and an SIII investor. ;^)
