Tried to be a little cynical regarding the performance of SanDisk stock on Friday <expecting and wanting it to be just the opposite>. Almost turned out to be very accurate, or at least it looked that way for the early part of the day. I won't try that again.

Interesting day though:

Day opened at $15 (same as Thursday -stock is trying to break through) went as low as 13 1/4 and came on strong at the end of the day. The highest volume was between almost 2&4pm. Ending on a sharp turn up to 14 1/8.

Higher volume of 597,000 shares traded.

After hours trades of 50,000 shares @ 13 7/8 and 100,000 shares @ 14 1/16.

Looks to me as though something is about to happen.

SanDisk is expected to have earnings per share of $0.10 for the fourth quarter. This is, in my opinion, extremely conservative. They had earnings of $0.09 per share for a very disappointing 3rd quarter. With all the positive news regarding sales of digital cameras wouldn't you expect better results?

SanDisk has pretty much completed it's fourth quarter shipments and they should have a fairly accurate assessment of their 4th quarter results. Could some of this information be leaking out?
