I think time will tell (if ericy's IPR is poor and QCOM holds the keys to W-CDMA) that Ericsson is the desperate party...

I wonder exactly which industry executives made that comment? As I also wonder who is "increasingly desperate". Ericsson's PR machine is truly amazing...able to leap tall logical barriers in a single bound, spontaneously fabricate new lies in a mere moment.

I would love to see a cogent explanation of how a proposed standard, with no technical merit over IS95, that wouldn't be deployed until 2002 at the earliest, is likely to render Qualcomm's technology "obsolete". Presumably the author of this piece expects Alltel, Ameritech, BellAtlantic, GTE, PrimeCo, Sprint and so forth to abandon their IS-95 networks "just because?" Well, I tired of getting angry about the baloney. Well see who "blinks" first!
