But James, what about Truth and Justice?

There are many parallels and distinctions that could be drawn, sort of like the metaphorical analogical antitrust warfare front. Sarcastic SOB that I am, I draw the parallel that both Bills were about equally forthcoming under deposition. Bill G. has a lot of advantages, though. Nobody's talked about hauling him up for perjury, he's got a lot more money for lawyers, and however murky antitrust law may be, it seems a lot more straightforward that Clinton's odd politico-legal mess. Poor Bill Clinton, failure to incriminate himself becomes another impeachable offense.

At this point, it's all entertainment to me on both fronts. I was worried about politics before the fall elections, if the (at one time) predicted Republican groundswell had come through, things could have gotten pretty unbalanced. As to Microsoft, however the legal matter works out, remedies are still very hypothetical, and the stock seems just fine. On the "free market" front, perhaps you or Gerald could take a crack at the latest Jesse Berst piece on innovation and the market in the Windows software world, zdnet.com , noted here by Keith Hankin and myself. The odd thing is, as I noted in www2.techstocks.com, it seems that piece is itself a Microsoft plant, as many of Berst's columns are. Too complicated for me to figure out.

Cheers, Dan.
