The rossbooks one looks like it will do. I could have contacted you, but I wanted to see if you still cared...

TCI is a negative that ATHM must live with. If that merger goes through, then ATT Customer Services will take over. In time TCI and all of its failed structure will disappear. That should be worth about 20 stock points. TCI just doesn't get it in spite of what Hindery says. TCI is still going for the couch potato tv audience. TV advertising is going to collapse. Eventually there will only be pay per view or equivalents. And only one channel.

There are several software companies which have local site redistribution or support server clients. It is possible for a server client to be remote, but full speed would be necessary. Given the wise move to restrict unlimited access, there will be a trend to QoS implementation at various levels. The 128k up constraint is the first.
Next year Shasta will release routers that will enable QoS for ISPs with opto-electronic bridges implemented in WDM. This development will enable tiered traffic to home web sites and has ramifications for VPNs up to QoS.

As usual everything hangs on wire.

Don't know where you live but I must say my experience here (Lakewood, CO) is quite the contrary. From the technician that came and installed the "goods" to the people at tech support I have talked to. I was surprised by the knowledge when I called tech support and the guy even gave me some hints where to go and how to manage my account better.

The customer service I have experienced so far has been 10 times better than TCI's customer service.

I thought that was the general consent of the market?
Am I wrong about some report circulating about better customer service provided by the ISPs?
