JR..

There won't be a lengthy trial in the Senate..
The republicans would rather have a lame duck
Clinton in office than give Gore two years to
work it out.. Clinton will make a deal on a
severe 'censure' to save his pension and other
perks which he would lose if he was convicted in the
Senate plus his pride won't allow the humiliation
of a "public" Senate trial .. He'll settle same
as Paula Jones case..saves everybody's butt and
gets us back to business.

Jim in CT..

Everything I read states that a major correction is coming before the end of January. I have not read the opposite. I have read that the market will do well until the end of the year, but the end of the year is days away.

The advice of going cash at close is excellent advice. The book The Electronic Day Trader strongly recommends it, ignoring the risk of an impending correction. I presume that the reason for daytraders to keep positions overnight is not lose the gap up in the morning. The book makes a strong case that this is not a good idea.

JrEwing and Tim, I respect and appreciate the comments you made tonight.
Thanks,
Glenn

>>>Really? And what do you think a lengthy Senate trial will do to our country and the market?<<<

I doubt it goes to a lengthy senate debate. It will be bargained to some plea of censure way before it goes very long in the senate. Once it's over the markets will rally purely on relief that it is over.
Are you mostly cash now? I guess you don't believe there will be any santa claus rally. I do. Here's my recent buys
CMB in at 60 and looking for 100 in a year
AOL in at 95. I think this is a great Net play and will rise and rise and rise over time. ALso the Movie 'You've got mail" is just out and is one big advertisement for AOL.
COOL in at 30. earnings expected to be very good on Tuesday
CNSI: In at 1 1/4 looking for a big announcment on Monday to send this much much higher. Downside is limited to maybe 1/4 point or so. Upside is a GERN like run on the 10 AM monday morning teleconference announcement. Get in early and out early.
