Check out this news:

dailynews.yahoo.com

They expect Telecom consolidation (mergers and acquisitions) to continue in 1999. I read this as RBOCs also likely to get into the LD business if they loose a strangle hold on the local piece.

SS,
<<<<The only two other alternatives I can think of are: the law suit BS, and Cyberfax spin off.>>>>

Something I think we should consider is the out right sale of CyberFax instead of a spin off. A spin off would take considerable time and money. I believe Joe has the resources for the money but I don't know if he wants to take the time. Just a thought.

Best Regards

Steve:

I was somewhat unclear, but assumed that Wisdom's first scenario was the case. If you are right (and I REALLY hope that you are), then the impact of this IXC deal is MUCH, MUCH bigger than I thought. To move from the 16% range to the 25-30% range is HUGE! Does anyone have an inside track on this question of margins??? When the DCI talks about 10-15% increases, are they referring to a direct increase or a percent of the current margins? Thanks.

PA

OT -- Steve, our European cousins would probably get a kick out of your "Euro dollar" reference, or else be livid. ggg. They fully intend for the euro to compete with the dollar in the global marketplace, and if they can get all of their member states pulling in the same direction, they just may do it. I'll be in Paris next month on business. Anyone know if the Murph is thinking about ooh-lah-lahing? ggg.
