gmccon: Saddam has survived for 7 years and there is no reason to believe he won't survive another 7, unless armed forces wage all out war to take him out. It's nice to believe that 20 seals can take him out, but they would first have to know exactly where he is to accomplish that mission. He is a "Desert Fox" and won't be disposed of without blood being spilled. No one is stepping up to the plate to offer their sons and daughters to get him. No one will unless he is directly connected to an act of terrorism - and even then, maybe not. I'm afraid we will have to live with him being in power for a long time. Unfortunately, so will the Iraqi people.

Just my opinion FWIW.

Bernie

With respect to getting him out, Seals could do it in a week and make it look like anyone else did it.

How ? Led by Tom Cruise with Sean Connery as the eminence grise ? Geez, you gotta stop watching those dumbass action movies. You forget that most of our previous attempts at eliminating an enemy thru covert action have been complete fiascos.
