Hey Michael let me ask you a question. Lets say your 16 year old daughter had sex with a boy after a prom. During the prom the school officials decided there were drugs at the prom and the kids had to go down to the police station and make statements. If asked, how would you feel about your daughters boyfriend if he 1) Told the entire truth, that she and he actually went to a hotel and werent there, or 2) Said that she and he were actually at the prom but didnt see any drugs (which would be a lie)

I realize this is not under oath however lying to a police officer is pretty destructive. Also assume there were other kids in the room when he was questioned so everyone would have heard about your daughters indiscretions.

Of course, adultery is not a crime, but why are you arguing with the Democrats? Go and fight your RR bosses who think it is! :-)

"...at least they are not criminals.."

Well, nothing exceeds like excess!

The RR are a bunch of sanctimonious hypocrites, who are oh, so shocked(!) at a fib EVEN UNDER OATH when it is a Democrat. If it is North or Caspar Weinberger, then a little misdirection is understandable under the circumstances... according to the keeper of the morality standards on high, Mr. Henry Hyde. Who, by the way, has had some indiscretion problems of his own, but hey, that only involved his wife, family, and his constituents.

I also hate to be the one to tell you but the fact of the matter is that lies are told in depositions all the time. Ask any lawyer who has taken a deposition. It is just human nature to put yourself in the best light and to equivicate under hostile examination with unfair questions put to you or framed in a way to trap you. That is why it is so hard to get a legitimate perjury case to trial, much less to conviction. Don't let fairness deter those who have never sinned and aren't to ashamed to prosecute others for what they have forgiven in themselves and their party.
