********************Off Topic***************************** The Title of this post is: What I did this Sunday or How not to buy lumber ------------------------------------------------------------------- A friend owns a lumber yard and hardware store so I buy all my TIM ALLEN project stuff from him. I bought a half ton truck load of 2 x 4's Yesterday and rather than go through the lineup and everything I just told him I would drive to the Highway around the back of the yard and load the lumber myself. (Keep in mind this is a friend of mine so he trusts me) So I drove to the highway, pulled off the road, and backed up to the piles of wood and started loading up. Then an Ontario Provincial Police Cruiser pulled up.... The cop got out of the car and walked up to me. "And what do you think you are doing" You might have noticed I have a warped sense of humour..... "I'm picking up these pieces of wood that someone put in the trash" "you can't just take this wood, it belongs to ***** lumber!" "Why not, they just put it back here in the median for the garbage to pick up" "No it isn't This belongs to them!" "Finders Keepers" "I think you better come with me" "I'm just kidding Officer, I paid for them inside and I came to load them myself." "Let me see your receipt* "Receipt...well I don't have one because I am friends with the owner and he just sends me a bill..." "come with me So he pulls me to his car, and puts me in the back seat. Then radios for the "shift seargeant". "No really. call ** at ***** lumber. This is the number." So 2 more cop cars show up and also a ford explorer cop car. Finally I guess my buddy saw the comotion and ran out to see If I had been hit by a car or something (I mean there was 4 police vehicles) so I look out the car window and they are talking to him and all of a sudden he starts laughing and crying. They talk awhile longer and then the cop comes back and says "He says he has never seen you before" of course I started swearing at my friend and then they all started laughing. Then let me out of the car. "I should give you a ticket for being a smart ass" so my friend says. "if you could give tickets for that he would be getting the death penalty"
