I just don't see it that way. The sales were those of Diamond, Creative, Guilemot, and other card makers. They hapend to use 3Dfx chips and the choice of the chip-set did have a bearing on the sales, but that does not change the fact the sales were their's.

So you think the majority of those people bought because of the cardmaker? If I thought that I'd sell my shares too.

It is my opinion that the actual cardmaker has a very small impact on sales. My guesses on consumer's areas of importance are:

1)Chipset
2)Price
3)Boardmaker

Yes, I think the boardmaker plays a part, but it is a distant one and it's my guess that just because Diamond and Creative are leaving the field we won't be losing more than 50% of our sellthough.

For you to triple that number, via whatever method, you will have to bring more evidence than just half of this plus half of that kind of numbers.

Due to my lack of a crystal ball, I must use past performance as a gauge for future performance. It is my "guess" that combined board sales won't decrease more than 50%. Past experience has shown me that simpler projections make for better ones. Why not try putting a reasonable scenario together yourself? Jeff? Potter?
