I do wonder about the timing of the bombing of Iraq. Was it necessary to initiate the bombing just 4 days before Ramadan? Did Hussein present an immediate threat if not bombed immediately? Could the timing have been a distraction from the House hearings? Also, do you remember when Clinton made quite a production on going to Mass. for vacation. Once there, he immediately made an announcement that he had approved air strikes against two terrorist bases. There is a question as to timing along with was the strike in Chad really on a terrorist property. Why did he not call the strike before leaving Washington? Why the grandstanding? How well do you believe Mike McCurry knows Bill Clinton? He has now told the BBC's newsnight program that Clinton's behaviour was "surely reckless" and "contrary to the way you would expect a rational human being to behave." Asked whether he thought Mr. Clinton was fit to be president, Mr. McCurry, who had maintained his silence on presidential issues since his resignation in October said: "I have enormous doubts because of the recklessness of his behaviour. The nature of this particular affair and then the way he did conceal it really does raise some very profoound troubling matters. I feel the way most Americans and probably his own wife do: Deeply disappointed, and hurt and a bit flabbergasted that he could be so reckless," said Mr. McCurry. I'm sorry. I just don't understand how you can be proud to have him as your president.

Best wishes, Frank
