Hi, Rich. Welcome back.

I've been hanging out here for almost two years now, and I'll be damned if I can tell you one way or the other why Apple behaves the way it does. Even scarier, even the best and brightest on the thread appear to be at a loss as well.

It seems to me that even the optimistic Apple investors are still a bit hesitant to stick too many eggs in the AAPL basket just yet.

I think there's still money to be made here, especially after the Senate censures Clinton and MacWorld kicks off next month. I am a bit wary of the new "Pro" machines and how well they'll do in sales (I plan to buy one, FWIW).

I know there are folks here who can give you much better, more sound justifications for AAPL's performance.

GO AAPL!

Mark

Hey Rich, How was Angola?

The tech part of today's rally is Intel based. GTW did Ok at the open, but got hammered down. The rest of the rally is a most favored issues rally. Apple is still stuck in the morass of no immediate news, a large short interest and fears of inventory over allocations. OR, the market sees AAPL as already up from 32 and likely to fade or stay put for a few days.

On the bright side: it seems to have found support at 34 1/4.

On the dim side: once the witching effect is over we may head down.

I bailed this morning at 35 3/8. Will buy back in this week, hopefully at around 33. What ever it's at, on Thursday I'm back in. I'm not "everyman," but perhaps I represent that group of AAPL followers who are aware of the potential here in the first half of January as well as AAPL's normally drunken action on no news.

Welcome back. Looks to me like it is time to buy AAPL. The shorts' case has just blown up because the iMac was the #1-selling retail computer in November and Apple has moved back into the top-five of computer makers.

This news has not hit all the wires yet. My Datek news had it, but DLJdirect didn't.

I assume people will figure it out tonight and buy tomorrow.

I just bought a bunch more.
