Roll-out of new Micronet/Ampex product to be lauched in Q1 of 1999.

FROM THE 12/21/98 FORM 424B3:
"Risk of Continuing Sales Decline

In response to declining sales of these products, Ampex is seeking to expand its products and services, including through acquisitions such as the acquisition of MicroNet Technology, Inc. Ampex intends to focus on MicroNet's DataDock 7000 product line and a new high-end product line to be introduced in the first quarter of 1999. Ampex also plans to de-emphasize other lower-priced product lines which, in prior years, have accounted for the majority of MicroNet's sales. . . . . Ampex has also instituted, and will continue to implement, cost reduction programs, which address the continued reduction in sales levels.
However, there can be no assurance that any of these strategies will be successful, or that Ampex will be able to reverse recent sales declines."

We know that Micronet was losing their ass. Hopefully the lower-priced product lines to be de-emphasized were those contributing the most to the losses. However, I'll add that the prospect of decreasing sales at Ampex AND Micronet is not too comforting, especially if we don't see profits from operations.
