To All, One of our 5 largest mutual fund cos., Franklin Resources (BEN), warned that eps will be lower than last year. Assets grew hardly at all year to year and they had to advertise more and pay staff more to get their lousy performance. Yes, everyone will say it is co. specific, but I disagree. Things are not going nearly as well in the mutual fund or the brokerage industry as one would expect given the manic bubble in stock prices. And they aren't going to get a lot better when this thing pops. This bodes poorly for overpriced fluff like Charles Schwab. MB
