WW, this article about cpq is great. I have a strong fear of compaq coming into the networking market because I thought these companies have so much money they can very well do anything. Looks like the reality of the networking market is really tough. None of these computer type of companies had been able to crack the networking market - digital(dead), IBM(sold), compaq(failure), intel(market share close to zero for enterprise), tandem(dead), Motorola(modem division dead), HP(conceded the low end market to coms) and dell is smart enough not to try it in the first place.

NN tried networking with UB and it was a total write off.

Also not to mention ALL modem companies except coms are bleeding blood like you wouldn't believe.
