wowsers.. didnt mean to cause a problem, sorry folks. Just for the record let me clear up what my opinions are on A.B. Watley so not to have any misunderstanding...

I have just recently started using the folks at AB Watley using their ultimate trader package.. This is the works, time/sales, real time charting, level II... No its not cheap, but thats all relative. What made me make the partial move (eventually all my trading will be done thru them probably) was when we had the first huge run on internets several weeks ago. Thanks to poor execution thru discount brokers, I calculated that my profit would have tripled if my orders had been executed properly. $8 a trade, or $10 a trade thru a discounter sounds incredible.. but when you put a market order in on an internet that is moving, and you get a fill report back that is 2-4 points higher meaning it executed 10 minutes later... and forget a limit order, they just ignore those..

anyhow.. sorry to clutter the thread, but I think its very important for new folks to realize that spending the money for better service in the long run will save you ALOT. Of course, I wont discount 'Als' comments if he has advice for me as well..

Folks- its 7:30am, im already excited about my trip to the wine/cheese store (sad eh?).. let the holidays begin and may all of you and your families have a safe/happy!!!!!!!!!!!

it is late and my typing is slurred forgive the typos please :(
Jenna even though my post was not a complaint ... note that if i ever complain i do so only if there is an objective reason to complain i am also as quick to praise for the same reasons ... seems to me you have more of a reason to recommend the ABW than anyone else , they are advertising on your webpage and i do see people sign up as a result of your recommendations to use them , instead of telling them to use due dilligence and find the best broker they can
my comment was based on day in and day out observations of the traders using abw ( lucky for me i never used abw and i avoided the grief i saw them going through way back when ) .... and i did say i hope they revamped their system
i had no intention to start anything disruptive, but you painted me in the most negative way .
Yes i did say that rtt wasn't performing well , but since that time they have improved tremendously and more improvements are on the way and i have nothing but praise for their efforts to do better
i still say ABW comissions sturcture is not inexpensive (imo of course )
i just expressed my own opinion which this forum is for
did you see me say something like ..... use ABCD brokerage instead ?? or in any other way advertising or hyping other services ?
i guess jenna perceived my post to be harmful to her own promotion or hyping of abw
as for the proof jenna come to mirc and i will tell you whom i observed having problems with abw ... you can privately chat with them i fyou wish
mind you, when abw works it is great but you don't want to get caught in it when it doesn't perform ..... every brokerage has its share of problems , none is ideal but i observed traders complain about abw more than about other similar brokerages /ameritrades and dateks not in the same league/
again i was expressing only an opinion fwiw

as i indicated i have never used abw , but one doesn't actually have to do that to form an opinion based on real time observations of other traders and other feedback
hope abw has improved its performance and if it has, then it is great ... traders do need good fast accurate reliable and affordable trade execution systems the more the better let them compete, traders could benefit more
but personally i still wouldn't say join abw if someone asked for my opinion... to date i haven't had much positive feedback
in my opininon traders should research well
i have no recommendations as to which brokers are better .... brokerages evolve all the time good ones become not so good and so so ones become excellent and so on
one should never hesitate to switch between brokerages as many times as it takes in order to try to find the best possible service for one's money

please no more replies to this post i felt i had to reply to jenna's accusatory rhetoric ...... i hope this will be the end of it
get back to the business of stock picks and let's not go beyond this post :-)
