Paul,
You should write a book entitled:
KURLAK - Late to the party again!

They are calling Kurlak's new estimate an upgrade. I call it Kapitulation! All of us long termers should be patting ourselves on the back <g> and thanking Santa Claus.

Happy Holidays

re: late for the party

Paul,

I don't think Kurlak is actually on this the ride but is being dragged behind the sleigh with his mouth open. Hope the wolves don't get him.

"Our concerns on several key issues ... have been allayed by steps management is
taking on cost reductions," Kurlak wrote sheepishly in a report Wednesday.

It's amazing. I think this is the first time Kurlak has ever looked at the "cost" side of Intel's business. Gee, do you think he realized that if cost/per chip is going down faster than asps, then Intel might not be in bad shape after all <ggg>

Paul,

Re: <<for the last part of the run up>>

Do you think we'll stop at 150 again this time for a year or so before doubling again like we did in 96-97? We hung around 65-100 for a year after the 7/97 split. Will it happen again (I'm assuming another 2/1 split at 150 or so) or are conditions so different now that the runup after that might be sooner?

What do you think?

Re Kurlak: IMO, he no longer has much credibility but because of his continued employment and thus association with giant ML, he still seems to have the power to move the short term price both up and down. I guess the Kurlakian buying opportunities which I gleefully took advantage of during the past year are gone for now - at least for for a little while. They will be back. He just doesn't get it.
