Thanks Wiz, that's what I was trying to convey. To go with cutting edge requires the right tools. Even my Ferrari (wish, wish)can't handle off road.

Heyy Wiz & Bill,
" Criticizm of the company or its officers for such a minor oversight or glitch involving an obsolete version of software, is totally uncalled for and rather mean spirited under the circumstances."
Mean spirited my ass!!!! The previous videos worked just fine, so something has changed, to state as much is hardly mean spirited and those that have participated in this effort to pinpoint the problem have ACTUALLY helped the company in expediting a solution. That is an active shareholder IMHO.

" Who are we to know if AS has even started serious work there yet, or perhaps unbeknownst to all they may already be addressing this problem. "
We have been told by at least a few people that attended meeting that Alan Spar has been working on the site. If they are addressing it
super I and others cannot see them at this point. C'mon how we can we go from one day woo woo CNBC ad and banner blitz to there is no need whatsoever to reach the greatest audience right this minute, those that are on the WEB now? Are they going to have teeny weeny print at bottom of add that says if you don't have the latest and greatest don't bother calling or using our services? If that is what you are suggesting that is insane. They screwed up that is THE FACT,
no need to paint some rosie scenario on it, nobody is perfect lets not pretend they are because we are invested in the Company, that does nobody any good.

Good points, but keep in mind that at least one area of their target market, brokers, realtors, etc. are almost certainly not going to be as technically proficient as you are. They are salespeople. They just want their computer to work, day after day, month after month, so they can go make money. The time spent to download and get used to the latest version of every bell and whistle is money out of their pockets. For example, I still use Netscape 3.02 because it works and gets the job done and lets me focus on where I make money, serving clients and investing. For same reason, still use WordPerfect 6.1 (I bought 8, but don't use it yet and am not sure when I will because I don't need it and don't have time to learn it the way I know 6.1 inside out.) Sure, I COULD download the newest software and spend time setting it up, learning the new features, getting the right plug-ins, etc., but that's going to cost me either money or family time. I fear that if FNTN forces potential users to keep upgrading, upgrading, upgrading every month or two, they are going to lose clients who want a TOOL, not a commitment. Remenber, success will come with broad acceptance, and that means NON techies.

Wiz
I agree with your post, there are many sites that are not accessible with older versions of software, browsers, etc. It would indeed be very expensive to have the videos work with old outdated technology.
I have the latest version of the G2 player and windows 95 but when I try to view the videos I get a message that I did something illegal and it shuts me down. I am not complaining though as it must be something wrong on my end if others can view the videos and I can't.
Merry Christmas to all especially to you and Bill.
Regards Tony.

An obsolete version of Software? According to the today's browser statistics, see: soprano.com
~25% of all users us a browser below Netscape 4.0 or IE4.0. I would hardly call that obsolete.

The real question is does it matter to FNTN's profits? Probably not much. However, if I was an investor and went to check out FNTN and saw script errors like crazy, I would be out of there. Of course if I saw a message saying "browsers x are required to see this site properly" that would be a different matter.

I agree this issue is pretty trivial, however, I wouldn't call it mean spirited. Enough from me on this topic, I'm to happy to say anymore. Monday I finished all the work towards my MS in Computer science. The same day I also accepted an offer as a software engineer for a small upstart co developing intranet/internet applications in upstate NY. Yippie!!
