well, wood splittling isn't rocket science, but there are a few things that make it go easier....

---pay to have someone else split and stack it for you!

---power splitter, I have no experience with this, so info will have to come from elsewhere

---hand splitting - get a good maul, work with the piece of wood--some chunks just don't want to be split and go in the *large piece for long burns* stack-- others grew to be split and can be easily worked to smaller stock for the kindling/quick start stack-- most pieces of the type of wood I burn give me a mix of the above: a large piece, couple of mid-sized and splinters for the kindling pile

---be careful and have fun, I try to pick and choose when I work my wood to take weather and other factors into account. I try to make it more of a dance than an ordeal.
