Power is the best crash resistant program. It will never be interrupted by another process. It may be operated by a discrete control that is hardware interrupt bound. The control is on the actual physical interface layer called the case. A single button may be actuated. It is marked "power". Subsequently the entire system ceases to function. Simple effective, and trouble free. So far Microsoft has not found a way to make this program non-functional and it remains the single best cure for many computing ills.

Well, since Windows 98 is closed source there isn't anything anyone can do except Microsoft and they seem to be incapable of making an Operating Conglomerate that doesn't crash. I don't think its possible to write something on top that will keep it from crashing. You can upgrade/downgrade to Windows NT. Its more stable. You can upgrade to a MAC. Or, since you are asking on this thread, I would have to strongly recommend upgrading to Linux. It can go for years without a reboot. You'll have to learn a new world, but when you want something done right you gotta do it yourself.
