TraderJ, newborn:

Thanks for sharing. What a wonderful christmas.

P.S. Watch out for those first oil changes, an infant's crank case comes packed with some wicked shipping goo. :)

BABY UPDATE: Baby was delivered at 3:04 AM 12/24. Weighed 8 Lbs. 3 Oz. and is 19 1/2 inches long. Everyone is doing well.

Was an extremely long and painful process both for my wife, Megan, and myself. 50 Hours of intense back labor to the point where the Anesthetist could not prescribe any more Morphine due to the fact that it was reaching toxic levels. In the end, Megan went from a 6, back to a 4 1/2 due to swelling of the cervix; they then decided to take it via C-section. Of course, during the beginning of this process, the epidural wore off and they had to put her under and I could not be in the room with her until after delivery. Still, a rewarding experience but I had some guilt that my wife was not able to see the baby for an hour after she delivered; I felt she should be the first to see her child and the child its mother.

I have a profound respect for what she endured to deliver this tremendous gift to us and bow to her fortitude and constitution. Only in the end did she finally give in to the pain as she had no more resistance that she could muster. I was very pleased, as was she, when they offered to take the baby via section and she agreed. The role of "coach" through this process is by far the most difficult process I have had to endure as well but by no means equivalent to what she had to endure. My ability to be strong and focused in those final hours was about gone and I fought back tears for her many times towards the end. The worst part was seeing the nurses break down and the anesthetist reaching for anything to give some relief, when nothing was left to offer. Their concerns were obvious and yet I had to remain strong so that Megan could focus.

My only regret is that through 9 mos. of a very easy pregnancy, the last two days were so difficult. Yet even now, as we discuss it, the pain is a distant memory and the reward, obvious.

You certainly will not ever here me compare the process of delivery with the pain of any other event. But by the same, token, on a completely different level, the role of "coach" is very difficult and frustrating as well and should not be trivialized by either sex. If Megan only new how much she helped me by telling me that I was helping her. That was all I needed to hear to remain strong.

An amazing process, an amazing gift......simple amazing. I have so much pride and joy that I did not imagine to be present.

I appreciate all your well wishes for myself, Megan and the new member of our family.....tentatively named Mackenzie Nicole. I printed each of your wishes for her to see, and she thanks you all.

I will most likely being laying a bit low next week as we wait for the ASCT saga to continue to unfold. It is looking very good here and I hope we can get back to some good, old fashioned, DD and money making in the next week or two.

ASCT is now my only holding and I will judge it day by day. I am hearing another rumor that the takeout price may have been increased, but this has not been confirmed. Lets cross our fingers for this one but keep our greed in check. Do not be afraid to take out a nice gain and look for reentry. If you trade wisely, you may be able to save your self a point, like today.

Remember, during the 1 3/4 move yesterday, there were no sellers present and the price had to be moved in order to turn over a few shares. Today, with about twice as many shares traded, and the recent price rise, more sellers were willing to take their narrowed losses from the run two weeks ago, or their position gains. I expect this again in the high 5s as we near the old high form a couple weeks back. There are still many that are averaged in the high 5s.

Be patient here folks and we may be rewarded.

Looks like many here had a great week. Lets rest our minds from the market and give thanks to those family and friend around us, our health, and for those things that we have that we take for granted when many are in need. Here is what I would like to do. I would ask that for the coming week if we trade well and make some nice profits, please take between 1%-5% of the week's profits and donate them to the Red Cross. I choose the Red Cross because I experienced, first hand the kind of help they offer when someone is in need. A week after proposing to my wife in 1994, our Apartment burned to the ground taking everything we owned with it .... and the insurance company, State Farm, would not cover it due to a technicality (a very long story). The Red Cross offered a tremendous amount of help to us even though we were still in a decent financial condition. A few from that fire had no place to go and no possessions left to take with them. If not for the Red Cross, these people would have been homeless.

So please help me in recognizing them this holiday season if you do well this next week.

Take care all and I look forward to returning to this thread with my original focus restored and us all focused on one common goal.

Merry X-mas to all.

Jeff
