CNBC had a spot this morning about Anand's review of the K6-3. They said that he had gotten over 300,000 hits since the review, and that some people think that he may have made up the benchmarks to increase traffic. They went on to say that if the results are true, AMD will be able to put some serious pressure on Intel (or something to that effect).

Happy Holidays.

Pravin.

I think this correction in AMD may be over. A brokerage report (thanks, Albert) by Erika Klauer of Alex Brown yesterday broke the news that AMD's average selling price for Q4 might be less than Q3, but that volume may exceed the 4.7M target. The ASP for November probably averaged only $85, IMO and the volume of 366's,
380's and 400's is too low to make it up in December. The report concludes as follows"

Maxwell and AMD Investors - 400 MHz K6-2 PLUMMETS IN PRICE !

Pricewatch is now quoting 400 MHz K6-2s for only $189 !

That is a $41 drop - 22% - since MONDAY , Dec. 21 !

Look out below ! What is happening here?

The 350 MHz K6-2 has also dropped from $114 to $108 since Monday.

Anybody have any idea why these prices are dropping so fast?

Paul

Maxwell , thanks for all the hard work on EPS .
I noticed Kurlak has the highest ASP among the analysts at $106 .
Here is my guess/estimate 5.2 M k6-2 at ASP of $108 , giving revenue of $861M . Using break even of $760M that would give EPS on 150M shares at 68 cents before tax . Using the stated 30% tax rate on CC
gives 47 cents EPS after tax .
Brian
PS Crossy looks overly optimistic , using his ASPs and volume I get 78 cents EPS .
