Hi Jay, Len and all.

I'm an absolute Newbie to using Neural Nets for stock timing and Neurostock but I've submitted a few problems to net builders at work so I'm familiar with their potential. I've had the notion in the back of my mind for a long time that I would like to progress from TA with WOW and MS to neural net approaches to stock timing but there seemed to be a $ and learning barrier to getting started. I found out about Neurostock last night by noticing the thread on SI and last night I read the entire thread here and the FAQ at the Neurostock site and downloaded the v2.102 NS6S and am starting to play with it.

I'd like to ask a question. Should I play around with the NS6S version for very long or am I wasting my time, and should just jump to the NS20S or the NS40S, or perhaps right to one of the commercial versions? My fear is that I'll dump a few hundred dollars and never generate anything worth anything. My real question is this: What version should I start with such that my learning process isn't held back by the programs limitations and is it pretty much a no brainer that I will be able to come up with something useful?

As background, I've developed a few indicators and successful trading systems using WOW and MS in the past so I think I've at least gotten a view of the TA landscape. I'm really trying to decide whether I would be better off putting money into a powerful version of Neurostock or BioComp's Profit or Neuroshell Trader. Any input from anyone would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for what may be a string of newbie questions in the future. I'll try to get them more focused that these though. : )

OFF TOPIC

Len,

From the look of this morning's action, it appears that the move last Thursday was just another one of those unpredictable spikes. Unless something happens soon it looks like it is downhill from here for the time being.
