Hi Gauguin, long time no type, my wrists are killing me. Anyway, my neighborhood puts out luminaria on Christmas eve, bags with sand and candles for Santa Claus to use to find his way here. Don't know why, but it is the tradition, here in western Fairfax in a white-bread neighborhood on the edge between the burbs and the country. Block after block.

In Louisiana, in Lutcher and Gramercy, they burn bonfires on the levee for Papa Noel to find his way, they make elaborate structures out of two by fours and light them, but I have not seen that for years.
