Why would anybody buy options so far out of the money? And so many of them? A couple days ago it was the third (if I remember correctly) most popular option traded. As I said, its what people look to see if there's any "funny" activity going on: i.e. takeover speculation or whatnot. (Just as people try to get a sense of coming activity by analyzing insider trading moves). Thus far, options play suggest the stock will be 70 (even though yesterday's action was at 65). But, there is (at least to me) some "funny" activity going on. Will it pan out? I don't know. And, as you imply, just might be nothing. So, do your own dd and make your own choices. I'll do the same. ;)
